Celebrating 25 years of science based educational woods tours
Since the late 1980's, the KARE Woods Tours have taken place on National Forests and privately owned timberland in Siskiyou County, located in Northern California. These lands surround majestic Mt. Shasta, a 14,162 foot snow-capped dormant volcano.
Woods tours are the perfect opportunity to experience forest management first hand. The tour will show you opportunities for improving forest health, reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfire, and sustainable management of public and private forests for wood products and habitat for wildlife and fishery resources.
